Its been 15 years since the tackle that changed Chris Canales’ life, and this Thanksgiving season the two men who met on the San Marcos Baptist Academy field met once again.
Despite the event, Monroe Nichols and Chris Canales have both been able to live fulfilling lives making a difference. Nichols was recently elected to the Oklahoma State House of Representatives, and Canales is one of the founders of Gridiron Heroes itself, which supports paralyzed football players and their families.
