Heroes on the Road

Posted on

We are excited to start a brand new campaign this fall called Heroes on the Road. As we get into the upcoming football season, we would love to have you become involved. Help us provide a special weekend for our Gridiron Heroes.

The goals of the campaign are to raise funds, awareness and to provide at least one new wheelchair-accessible van to one Gridiron Hero. Additional funds will support our monthly Wal-Mart gift card program. We are currently the only organization providing this type of assistance to our catastrophically injured high school athletes.

Over the years, many coaches on the collegiate and high school levels have extended invitations to bring our Gridiron Heroes to one of their home games. We would like to provide that opportunity to our injured athletes. For some, it would be the first time to ever attend a collegiate game. We will be working with alumni from different schools on creating a tailgate for our cause. This will require traveling to San Antonio, Dallas, Houston, College Station, Austin, Waco and Lubbock throughout the 2018 football season. A press conference will be held in each city during the week of the game. We will meet with high school coaches as well as these local college coaches ( Frank Wilson, Sonny Dikes, Major Applewhite, Matt Rhule, Tom Herman, Kliff Kingsbury and Jimbo Fisher).
